My name is Jennifer Ratchel. I am originally from Oklahoma. I have been in Bakersfield for 11 years. I graduated from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha with a double major in Deaf Education and Elementary Education. Currently, I have a 4th/5th/6th grade class of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. We work very closely with Mrs. Schneider's 6th grade class.
There are 5 Deaf classes on Eissler's campus. This is the tenth year for our program here, and we really enjoy this campus. The staff and students are very accepting of the Deaf students. We have many opportunities to involve our students in fun and exciting events.
I have been married to my husband, Tom, for 11 years. I have a 5 year old girl named Abigail (Abby) and a son, Brandon, who is two.
